Conventions of a college magazine.
Mast head- The mast head is simple and straight to the point, as it simply states what it is all about 'college'. the name could have been made more complex and eye caching, as the mast head is usually the first thing the consumer will see, suggesting that it should be something bold and different. however the mast head they have chosen 'college' is straight to the point and shows who the target market is straight away.
Colour scheme- The yellow and blue colour scheme is a good choice of colours as the a vibrant and seem like young and life like colours which suit the target audience as college students are young. as the colours are bright they stand out which makes the text more eye catching making the consumers more likely to pick the magazine up and not the competition.
Story lines- There are 8 story lines on this magazine, this makes the magazine seem like its got a lot to talk about inside, as if they only have like 2 or 3 story lines the magazine would seem dull and boring as having 8 it seems pack and full of info.
Main image- The main image is a medium shot this makes the front cover as this is a usual convention of magazine.
Date- The date is a definite convention of a magazine as this should be on all magazines so that the consumer can see the relevance of the story lines.
